Help for Heroes are supporting our wounded personnel by funding the building of the Personnel Recovery Centres in Devonport Plymouth.
Parker VC will include a 60 bed accommodation block with family rooms, education facilities, social spaces and breakout rooms for interviews. Complementing Parker VC will be Endeavour; a recovery complex with facilities to support rehabilitation. Facilities will include a swimming pool, hydro pool, gymnasium and physiotherapy unit.

The Help for Heroes bears receiving a cheque for £8,810 from the construction site workmen. They raised the monies through a number of fund-raising projects.
August 2012: Works are progressing well on site. Key activities in July included: Installation of windows on the 1st and 2nd floor, the roof insulation was finished, temporary power was connected, and insulation, cavity ties and external masonry commenced.
Parker VC is progressing well with the building now watertight & the internal structure coming together at breakneck speed. All of the contractors (most are local) are working flat out to achieve completion ahead of the scheduled 5 April 2013.
Work on the Endeavour building has commenced. The ground works will continue until late October, completion is planned for 13 December 2013.
November 2012: The foundation stone of the Endeavour Centre at HMS Drake, Plymouth, was laid by the co-founders of Help for Heroes, Bryn and Emma Parry, and injured personnel from the Royal Navy and Royal Marines who will benefit from the facilities. |
