The Naval Families Federation

...the voice for families of those serving in the Royal Navy and the Royal Marines

Message Board

The NFF Message Board has been created to enable naval families to communicate easily with each other. It is hoped that the Board will give families the chance to view other peoples problems and and also share their experiences in solving them or otherwise.
Messages are monitored regularly by staff to ensure that the NFF is able to react and represent current discussion issues in an appropriate way.

Please remember that in the interests of safety and security do not
include your email address, your home or work telephone numbers,
or your home address when posting a message.
In an emergency, outside normal office hours, please ring the JCCC on
+44 (0) 1452 519951

Have you got a serving person away on deployment? Looking for support or signposting while they are away?

Dentistry & Health Issues

Are you new to an area and finding it difficult to register with a dentist or GP? Have you lost access to an NHS dentist because you have moved with the Service? Have you a health issue that may be affected by being a family member of a person serving in the Royal Navy or Royal Marines?

Relocation/Moving House

Are you experiencing problems with Service Families Accommodation (SFA), moving, house purchase, entitlements …..?

Education/Special Needs

Are you experiencing problems finding a school for your child? Do you have a child with special educational needs with or without a statement (record of need in Scotland) and are experiencing difficulties as a direct result of being part of a Service family?

Find a friend

Are you living away from the Port areas and want to chat to someone in “the same boat”?
Are you moving in the future and would like to talk to someone living in the area you are moving to? Do you want to know about things that are of particular interest to you - i.e. is there an Asda close by, what is the weather like, are the locals friendly etc.

Families of New Naval Service Recruits

Have you got a relative who has joined the Royal Navy or the Royal Marines?
This can be a time of new experiences for all of you - for those joining the Service and for families left behind at home. Please use this page to support each other, ask questions or make comments.
Do remember, if you have any concerns about the welfare of your son, daughter or a relative, please contact the Commanding Officer of the Training Establishment concerned - they would want to hear from you and offer help to resolve any difficulties.

Share a Recipe

Your chance to post those special recipes that are just too good not to be shared. So let's get sharing.

New issues will always arise, so if you have a discussion subject that you would like to put on the Message Board, please contact NFF via the online form and we will ensure a new discussion topic is created as soon as possible. You will be contacted when it is available and on line.

For those who would prefer not to use the Message Board the NFF also welcomes feedback on issues that are affecting families in the Royal Naval Service via the online form and by e-mail at admin@nff.org.uk
